We Are One

We Are One

Drops streak cheek to cheek,

Sliding singular then joined, liquid salt of innards,

Waltz smooth to acceleration, zoom zoom zoom past oblivion,

Back to ground, back to present, back to body

Here now, blood course

& beat beat beat pulse of life,

Soul-rending shocks, chest boom boom,

Boom, gasp & breath to breath,

Lightning power & anaconda constriction

Penetrate through silk of skin to caverns

Of suspended songs, chants time knows,

The other world hidden to expose

In dreams, faint images of

Books filled with our purpose & past,

Choices, lessons to be, promises to keep,

Judgement is mine to myself,

To this vessel I inhabit

Mournful tears of imagined loss, sparkling crystals,

Mirrors shine & show glimpses

Bottom-deep as clear unmoving seas,

Immobile tranquility,

Blue, green & luminescent

Dive down the funhouse tunnel, rotating,

Quivering earthquake as knees to misstep,

Hobble hobble hobble,

Foot to foot & rail grasp,

Trip, the whisper whoosh, whoosh, whoosh,

I hear, echo soft, twist as breeze

Inhale, drown to choke the almost crash

In heart heat, flame fierce,

Inside, into the wail of the lost,

Cocoon of the heartbroken, torn fragments

Of impending maybes,

Certain? Ha!

Ah justice, balance me blind

In tremble of earth & quicksand,

Swallow oh slow, deliberate & warm,

Future is not present,

But it feels like a living, monstrous,

Ravenous creature, thirst & crunch,

Seize on bone & flesh, tender, sweet,

Crouch to strike, sting & bite,

Morsels of shape & form, human

Dreams, voluminous billowing wisps

Of desires borne of each speck

Of stardust, of light incredible,

To each a moment expiring,

End to begin anew

We are one as breath, as dust,

As heart pain & quiver into magic,

Mountainous curving up by cliffs

& narrow winding serpentine paths

We are one in loss, circumstance & birth,

I am you, I am me, I am we,

We Are One
